Es gibt sie in den verschiedensten Varianten und Zuschnitte. Die Benennung Spareribs in Deutschland wird von vielen doch recht inflationär verwendet wird.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Im Supermarkt an der Fleischtheke frisch oder fertig abgepackt und vor mariniert, sogar vorgegart, sodass die Ribs nur noch kurz gegrillt werden müssen, könnt Ihr eigentlich alles mit dem Namen Spareribs finden. Was in der Form leider die falsche Bezeichnung ist. Alles was angeboten wird, sind &#8222;eigentlich&#8220; namentlich aus dem englischen/amerikanischen unter dem Name Loinribs oder auch als Babyback-Ribs bekannt.<br>Warum in Deutschland, was eigentlich unter den deutschen Bezeichnungen, Kotelett-Rippchen, Leiterchen vom Schwein, Rücken-Rippen, pauschal alles mit dem Wort Spareribs bezeichnet wird, liegt vermutlich irgendwo im Dunkel der Vergangenheit.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Spareribs sind die Rippen, welche sich auf, oder auch unter, je nach Blickrichtung :), dem Schweinebauch befinden. Diese gibt es auch in unterschiedliche Zuschnitten, sogenannte Cuts. Der bekannteste ist vermutlich der St. Louis Cut. Dieser wird in der Regel bei Wettkämpfen verwendet, da dieser einen sehr geradlinigen Schnitt hat. Dadurch ist er recht praktisch, im Grill zu positionieren. Vom Aufstellen in einem Ständer und später zum Dämpfen übereinander geschichtet ist der Cut hervorragende geeignet.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Im folgenden Video werden die verschiedenen Zuschnitte und Varianten, wie St. Louis Cut, Baby Back, Loin-Ribs und weitere gezeigt und erklärt. Damit könnt Ihr dann eher erkennen, um welche Variante es sich handelt, sollte ihr in der Fleischtheke über ein paar Stücke stolpern.</p>
